The most outstanding thing about the Shotokan Karate system is that it is practiced worldwide and is basically a standardized Karate system. One may go to any Karate dojo and fit in with hardly any problem. However, there may be some small variations due to the beliefs and style of the Shotokan instructor - usually due to style and the build of the instructor. The strikes, blocks & kicks - should be pretty standardized - as well as the katas. The katas may differ slightly due to the interpretation of the kata's technical applications. Nevertheless, the karate student can easily adjust to the instructor's style and commands!
